Hinged to Forgetfulness like a Door, Richard...
Hinged to forgetfulness like a door, she slowly closed out of sight, and she was the woman that I loved, but too many times she slept like a mechanical deer in my caresses, and I ached in the metal silence of her dreams. (via poetry365.)

Known love standing in deep groove new love naked on plain dance record from before I was born played with a new needle no dancing - W.S. Merwin I found this written on a notecard in my bedroom, without a title. I am pretty sure it is from The Carrier of Ladders (I had borrowed a copy earlier this last year) but do not have any Merwin books myself to look for it.  Does anyone know the title...

Writers & Readers: The Horror! The Horror! Participating writers include Adam Golaski, Elizabeth Hand, Brian Evenson, and Laura Sims. I should probably find the five dollars to go to this reading on Thursday. Then maybe write something about it Friday?

drama on the 61
hi54lofirecords: not sure how much everyone else was left shell shocked by the redesign of the 61 a couple days ago (mom, i’m guessing your fine?), but i was pretty shocked. so were a lot of other people. their facebook page is a good spot to see that. i won’t get into it much and i’ll try to find a balance between being dramatic and not being dramatic. but basically, they completely changed...

(via matthewgallaway) I have been seeing people (some who have political views that generally seem all over the place and confused, but that is a different story; some also may be making jokes that are not coming clear across the internet.) praising John McCain for “allowing” his wife to have views in opposition to his own. It seems, even though he opposes same-sex marriage, by...

The weather today was a perfect for a longish run with a biggish hill in the middle (with a funny little dimple?). I have not been running too much lately, so I had my cell phone in my water bottle holder in case my legs quit on me. This also meant I could take some pictures while taking a quick rest at the top. Southern New England is nice looking from a distance. Then I looked out to the...

Using Scribus for the first time ever today to do some page layout and design for an annual report for a non-profit. I like it so far, it has done everything I need and given me no problems; this is some pretty good desktop publishing software, who needs all that fancy Adobe stuff.
